We need your help!

The review and update process of the protected areas data is an essential component of the WDPA and we would like you to help us complete this process. Maintaining a dynamic database of over 100,000 records of areas across the globe is a big challenge that can only be undertaken with the active participation of everyone. As you may expect, information on protected areas is constantly changing: new protected areas are created, some are expanded or their IUCN category status are changed, etc.

If you have first hand information on the protected areas in your region, please take the time to review the information presented in this database, provide us with your feedback and/or let us know if you can contribute better datasets.

The best way to provide us with feedback is to use the Internet, using the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas Portal.
